Overview
Globetech Construction was engaged by Siemens New Zealand to provide the specialise construction services to remove the existing drives system and replace it with the new G120 drive suit.
Scope
Globetech Construction worked in conjunction with Siemens to investigate the logistics of the drive upgrade, formulate a suitable methodology which would see the drive suit fully installed ready for commissioning within a 6 day window. This required the removal of the existing Masterpack drive suit and replacing the entire suit with a G120 drive suit.
Project Challenges
The main challenge was the logistical issue working in another country with regard to standards, licensing, supply etc. The other challenge was the implementation window was only 6 days to suit the commissioning timeframe and shipping schedules.
How We Managed This
We travelled to New Zealand prior to the commencement of the shutdown and conducted a detailed investigation of the upgrade to allow detailed planning to be conducted. During this visit we also meet with key the local supply chain for items such as Accommodation, Hire equipment, construction materials and local contractors.
Value Adding
We developed and executed on our detailed execution plan utilising our Specialist Australian in house team.
We were able to deliver this project as per schedule and on Budget.
Zero Harm
The project safety record was excellent with no LTI or MTI’s recorded.
